Secondary Design Engineer

𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

– Prepare Single Line Diagrams, Protection & Control Diagrams, Logic diagrams, and Interlocking block diagrams.
– Prepare electrical equipment sizing calculations (Battery, MV&LV cables, MV&LV Switchgear, Emergency Diesel Generator).
– Prepare CT/VT sizing calculation.
– Prepare electric power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, etc.) using ETAP software.
– Prepare equipment specifications (i.e., large power transformers, breakers, voltage regulators, switchgears, surge arresters, etc.) ensuring compliance with project specifications and relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
– Prepare control & protection cables schedule and related BOQs.
– Evaluate supplier proposals and select equipment based on technical requirements and project specifications.
– Review of Supplier Drawings/Calculations including but not limited to protection, Control, and telecommunication systems of the substation.
Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and manage resources effectively.

𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

– Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering – Electrical Power Major.
– 6+ years of working experience in Secondary design of substations and/or power plants.
– Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.).
– Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, etc.
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
